Mark Martin
Mark Martin has spent 10 years designing and developing innovative consumer products in many industries. Although he had the opportunity to develop products for the medical, packaging, POP, and sporting goods industry, majority of his experience has been in consumer electronics. He has a passion for pushing design boundaries while maintaining design intent throughout the development process. Mark is very much engaging and hands on from initial product concept to product launch, often times wearing many hats. He always works with a cross functional team members consisting of engineers, marketing and brand managers, design management as well as other designers. He relies on their input, advice, and constructive criticism to aid in the industrial design process.
Some of his more noted consumer electronic projects was with The SharperImage where he designed cutting edge products such as IPod speakers and sound soothers, handheld steam cleaners, and array of LED products. Majority of his projects came to market, won awards, and received online reviews by companies such as Engadget and Amazon. Mark also had the opportunity to work with Frog design as a Sr. Industrial Design Contractor for several months. Within that time he was involved with projects for Canon, HP, BAE systems, and Kodak. More of his recent work was with a company called Studio Red where he was contracted as a Sr. Industrial Designer. His role was to lead and take ownership of various projects while working with in house team members for support and input. His projects were in the high tech industrial areas and consists of medical devices as well as high tech servers for such companies as Nutanix.
Mark has been fortunate enough to lead and take ownership of his projects, however has also played a key role as supporting designer. He knows the value of being in a team environment and enjoys the good company. Some of his activities include playing for team sports, group fitness training, and outdoor activities.
